I'm CyberForte, an independent game developer. If I defined who I was by education, then I'd say I'm a mathematician and ancient historian, while family association would make me a writer and editor. By choice, however, I'm a gamer, a scripter, and a fan of fantasy works. RPGs have always been my favored genre in terms of gaming, from Pokemon to Final Fantasy, and high fantasy is my favorite genre in terms of content. I've also always preferred works that take a holistic approach to the world that they seek to portray, meaning that my work may at times include sexuality and adult themes. But not every story has these components, and so plenty of what I create is also SFW and I try to create my adult content such that it can be enjoyed with or without an interest in the sexual side.
Given my preference for a holistic experience, though, I want to create games that holds true to all of this--engaging RPGs with interesting combat and fully developed worlds. Much of what I'm trying to accomplish in my rpg projects is inspired by the MMORPG genre, specifically World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV. I enjoy traditional turn-based combat, but I also feel that it needs something more to be fully compelling. We've all played weak rpgs where you don't have to put any thought into skill use and just hit attack over and over, or games where the only challenge is to your endurance in terms of how much you're willing to grind. I think games like these do a disservice to the genre and weaken its potential for fun, engaging combat in a game that also tells a story.
Personally speaking, though, I'm also a bit frustrated with many of the professional titles on the market. Eastern titles tend to have weak protagonists, while western titles tend to be so focused on being edgy that they lose their enjoyment. It is my hope to avoid both these pitfalls and create games that are fun and compelling, first and foremost through the metric of making the kind of game(s) I would like to play myself. I hope that you may also enjoy these games!
